Congratulations to Julie and Jordan who were married at the Riverhouse in Haddam, Connecticut! I have known Julie for a couple of years through her aunt - and close friend of ours, Debbie, and met Jordan several months before their engagement shoot. It was pretty obvious from the engagement shoot just how happy Julie and Jordan are together, which made them such a thrill to work with. Here are a few favorite shots from both sessions - with plenty more to follow - stay tuned!
First, from their engagement session at Elizabeth Park:
...and a few from the wedding:
One of my all-time favorite shots:
Thank you again, Julie and Jordan, and hope to see you soon!
Congratulations to Emily and Kyle who were married at St. Joseph Church in Bristol, Connecticut (practically across the street from me) with reception to follow at the Riverview in Weatogue, Connecticut. In between we stopped at the always amazing Elizabeth Park in West Hartford, Connecticut for some formals. I have known Emily for a few years through my wife (who was her gymnastics coach) and met Kyle more recently during their engagement shoot last year. Their harmony was evident right off the bat; they are such a happy, likeable couple - and I was thrilled to work with them. Cheers!
Here are a few personal favorites from throughout their wedding day - with several more to come.
PLENTY more to come - please check back!
Congratulations to MaryBeth and Tony who were married at Berlin Congregational Church with reception to follow at Indian Hill Country Club in Newington. In between we stopped at the Silas Robbins House in Wethersfield for additional formals. I have known MaryBeth for a few years through her sister Kim, whose wedding I covered in 2010 - and will be covering their brother Phil's wedding later this year. I met Tony a few months ago and knew from the get-go that together they were a fun couple who I would not only enjoy working with but genuinely look forward to talking with, too.
Here's one of my favorites from their engagement session at Top Smead State Forest in Litchfield a few months back (pic below):
...and here are a few favorites from throughout their wedding day, with many more to come (please check back soon). The entire gallery will be available over the next couple of days.
...stay tuned, more to come!
Wishing you and yours a safe, warm, and wonderful holiday season. I have so much to be thankful for and yet so much to look forward to. I'll be on a bit of hiatus for a while spending as much time as I possibly can with my boys. I've spent so much time heads-down on work that when I look up I'm amazed by how fast they have grown. I can't let that happen anymore.
Please keep in touch and check back.
Congratulations to Alessandra + Ramsey who were married at St. Sebastian Church in Middletown, Connecticut, with reception to follow at Cascade in Hamden, Connecticut! I have known Alessandra and Ramsey for a couple of years through our mutual friends Rich [the best-man at my wedding] and his wife Amanda, and first worked with them during their engagement session a few months ago at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford, Connecticut. They are such a fun couple, so needless to say I was thrilled and honored with the opportunity to cover their wedding! Thanks again Alessandra + Ramsey - I look forward to seeing you both again soon!
First, a few engagement shoot highlights:
...and some of my personal favorites from throughout their wedding day:
My four year old spotted this little guy from across the driveway this afternoon. I rushed in to get the camera but the clouds broke into full sun before I could get back outside. The scene was too bright for how I wanted to capture this shot so I ran back in and grabbed a 4'x5' black posterboard, wrapped it in an arch over both he and I and snapped away. The boys and I watched him for quite a while before he eventually retreated and camouflaged into a thick batch of switch grass.
A very big congratulations to my step-brother Jay and new sister-in-law, Leslie who were married at Farmington Gardens, Farmington, Connecticut. I had the honor of covering their wedding and welcoming Leslie into our family (who are we kidding, she's already been part of the family!). This was my second wedding at Farmington Gardens, and yet again, their staff was on point, and their food was INCREDIBLE. It rained a little throughout the day, but that didn't stop the fun.
Here are a few personal favorites from throughout the day:
Ever get that sneaking suspicion that someone - or something - is watching you? Got that today while at my desk and looked out the window only to find I was being watched like a hawk... literally:
Yet again I am tweaking the website - each time for the better (I hope!) - however, I came the realization that I was reinventing the wheel on several components. While I built and maintained my main homepage (http://jisaacdoty.com), I had my images hosted on another site (powered by Zenfolio), my blog on a Tumblr page, calendar on another host, etc.. That's too many interfaces to update content, and a bit of a struggle to maintain any consistency in format across the board. Lo and behold my [incredible] photo hosting site, Zenfolio, has all of these features available (and I'm already paying for them). Now, I have one site to maintain EVERYTHING while maintaining a consistent look throughout the entire interface. I'm phasing in components, and slowly copying over historical blog content, so please bear with me during this transition. For now, you can still reach me at either site (http://jisaacdoty.com or http://photos.jisaacdoty.com).
Plenty more to come!
Congratulations to Marisa + Mike who were married at The Waterview in Monroe, Connecticut! I first met Marisa and Mike a little over a year ago through Marisa’s close friend and bridesmaid, Allie - and first worked with them during their engagement session a few months ago - one of my favorites. First off, here are a few favorites from the engagement session:
Needless to say, I was anxiously awaiting the wedding and another opportunity to work with Marisa and Mike, and yet again, they did not disappoint.
Here are a few personal favorites from throughout the day:
Marisa and Mike - thank you very much for the opportunity to work with you both!
Stay tuned - plenty more to come!
